Projects are started when a potential customer with a need for custom
software calls:
An initial consultation is held to determine the general project scope.
This determines whether the proposed project is within BTF's current resource
capabilities, and whether the customer's budget matches the scope.
This initial consultation is at no charge.
BTF prepares a rough project plan (and a rough system design if
appropriate) for the customer. The customer can use this draft to
decide whether or not to proceed.
This initial draft is also at no charge.
If the customer chooses to proceed, further work is charged on an
hourly basis according to the rates published below.
Rates
Eighty two Canadian dollars and fifty cents ($82.50) per hour.
Charges are in quarter hour increments.
When travel is involved, the minimum charge is for four (4) hours.
Travel outside the Greater Victoria area is charged travel time at
the rate of $82.50 per hour, plus disbursements.
Automobile use outside the Greater Victoria area is charged at $.45 per kilometre.
Payment Terms
Hours worked during a calendar month are billed at the end of the month.
Invoices are due and payable by the end of the following calendar month
(30 days).
A two percent discount (2%) is given if payment is received by the 14th.
Accounts in arrears are charged interest at the rate of two percent
per month (24% per annum), and further work is deferred until the arrears
are paid.

Our Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration number is
